AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of banned ceremonies and monstrous transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret sect.
The questline centers on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana alongside numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
